The Division LB Minerals is mining and processing valuable minerals such as kaolin, clays, feldspars, aggregates as well as silica sand at multiple production sites. These products are also used within the Lasselsberger Group as raw materials for building materials as well as ceramic products.

LB Minerals is recognized as one of the key suppliers for Kaolin in Europe and Eurasia. Based on decades of experience, state of the art equipment and motivated employees LB Minerals can produce high quality products for various applications in the paper-, pharmaceutical-, glass fibers- or automotive industries. Continuous investments in new production sites as well as predictive maintenance allow a steady growth of the business.

Deep white project

In mid-2022, LB Minerals Pty Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the LASSELSBERGER Group, launched its newest kaolin venture, the DEEP WHITE PROJECT in Western Australia. At Deep White we are developing a premium-grade and high-quality kaolin deposit in Meckering, approximately 130 km east of Perth. From H2/2025 onwards, we plan to start ramping up production to 120,000 tons of highly-pure enriched Kaolin which will be manufactured in a processing plant in WA by more than 50 new permanent staff.

Our goal is to build a state-of-the-art enriched kaolin production facility by combining our decades long in-house kaolin manufacturing know how in Europe with modern production technologies.

The LASSELSBERGER Group has been operating in Eurasia in the minerals, building materials and ceramics industries since 1957 and is an established and major player in the European kaolin market. By bringing decades of know-how in mining and processing of raw kaolin to Australia, LB Minerals Pty Ltd will produce a range of high-margin, high-quality kaolin products utilising state of the art processing technologies targeting the Australian and Asian markets.

The LASSELSBERGER Group is an industry leader, a major international producer of minerals and building materials and one of the largest producers of ceramic tiles in Central and Eastern Europe.

With its headquarters in Austria, the 100% family-owned company is currently operating almost 70 production sites and employing more than 5,000 employees.
